What do you do with the hero?

The hero: the headline, a silk ECG ribbon, the ask box with kinds of question, and the stats in full under it

Why

Doctors use it every day. The landing barely says so.

Their hero is a quiet search box. It hides how much is behind it.

The hardest part

The hero took the longest.

My first try put the whole app under the headline. Eight lines, and nothing said health.

The first hero: a pill, the headline, two buttons, and the whole app in a window under them
First try.

I tried an ASCII heartbeat, a bedside monitor, a heart made of cells. In the end: one silk heartbeat, the ask box, five lines.

The grid

They have a lot of data, so I gave it a grid.

200 million consultations, 10,000 hospitals, five journals, a dozen societies. Everything under the hero sits between two rails, like Stripe and Mintlify.

The journal partners as cells, then the societies on one side and the publishers and investors on the other

Details

The small things carry it.

Each feature plays its idea once on hover. A logo lights up anywhere in its cell. One warm accent, minimal shadows.

Six features in a grid, each with its own small graphic: a grade, a figure, credit, a visit note, a dialer and a handout
Six features, six graphics.
The last call to action, with a field of small crosses lit around the pointer
Crosses instead of dots.

Process

Mostly cutting.

Every version of the hero lost something, and it got better each time.
